Our sleep studies take place in the evening when you will come to the sleep lab to spend the night in a spacious hotel-style suite featuring a king size bed, 42” HD plasma screen with Direct TV, a Blue Ray disc player and a selection of movies. Every suite has a private restroom, most have a Jacuzzi style tub. We encourage our patients to bring their partner or accompany their child.
Sleep Study Preparation
Prior to the start of the study, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. Once finished, it will be time to prepare for sleep.
EEG sensors are placed on the head and monitor brain wave activity.
A small nasal cannula will measure airflow into the airway.
Eye movement sensors report the stage of sleep, known as REM sleep.
Sensors monitor muscle movements of the legs while you sleep.
Electrocardiogram sensors monitor heart rate and rhythms.
A lightweight plastic finger clamp fits over the tip of the finger to show oxygen levels.
While you rest, a technician monitors sleep patterns in a separate control room. Results are forwarded to your doctor, who will develop an individualized treatment plan and treatment options.
